BTS has once again proven their global popularity by taking the top spot on Japan’s Oricon weekly streaming chart.
According to Oricon, BTS’s track “SWIM” ranked No.1 on the weekly streaming chart (dated April 6) after rising an impressive 26 spots from No.27 the previous week. The song maintained strong streaming numbers in its second week, showing continued popularity in Japan.
With this achievement, BTS has now reached No.1 on the Oricon weekly streaming chart a total of six times, setting a new record for the most No.1 rankings by a foreign artist. Their previous chart-topping songs include “Dynamite,” “Film Out,” “Butter,” “Permission to Dance,” and “Yet To Come.”
In addition, “SWIM” ranked No.2 on the weekly digital single chart, moving up three spots from the previous week.
Their album “ARIRANG,” which includes the track, also performed strongly, ranking No.2 on the weekly digital album chart and No.3 on both the weekly album chart and combined album chart, maintaining solid performance for two consecutive weeks.
BTS’s success is not limited to Japan. “SWIM” debuted at No.1 on Billboard Brazil’s Hot 100, becoming the first foreign song to achieve this since the chart’s renewal in 2023. Several other tracks from the album also entered the Top 10, with five songs charting at the same time.
In the United States, BTS also topped both major charts, with their album and title track reaching No.1 on the Billboard 200 and Hot 100. Notably, 13 out of 14 tracks from the album entered the Hot 100, highlighting strong global support from fans.
With record-breaking rankings across multiple countries, BTS continues to set new milestones in the global music industry.
