BTS is once again showing why they remain one of the biggest groups in the world, as their comeback concert broadcast BTS Comeback Live: Arirang has surged to No. 1 on Netflix’s Top TV Shows chart in 77 countries.
According to FlixPatrol on March 23, the Netflix special ranked No. 1 in 77 out of 93 countries tracked on March 22, making it one of the strongest global chart results tied to the group’s long awaited return.
What is drawing even more attention is that the broadcast topped Netflix charts in some of the world’s biggest music and entertainment markets, including the United States and the United Kingdom, along with South Korea, Japan, France, Germany, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, the Philippines, Taiwan, Australia, and many more.
However, the ranking comes with an important note: these results do not reflect the live broadcast audience from the actual concert. Instead, the chart performance is based only on views of the recorded replay version watched the day after the live event.
Even so, the numbers are adding to the massive momentum behind BTS’s comeback. The group released their 5th full album Arirang on March 20, marking their first new album in 3 years and 9 months since Proof in June 2022.
They followed that with BTS Comeback Live: Arirang at Gwanghwamun Square on March 21, where organizers estimated that 104,000 fans gathered for the event, further proving the scale of the group’s return.
BTS is not slowing down either. After the Gwanghwamun performance, the group is set to appear at Spotify x BTS: Swimside in New York on March 23 local time, before officially launching the next chapter of their comeback with ‘BTS World Tour Arirang in Goyang’ at Goyang Stadium from April 9 to 12.
