Director Park Chan Wook’s film No Other Choice faced a disappointing moment at the Critics Choice Awards, failing to secure a win despite multiple nominations.

On January 4, the 31st Critics Choice Awards were held in Los Angeles. No Other Choice was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film and Best Adapted Screenplay, but ultimately did not take home a trophy. The awards went to The Secret Agent and One Battle After Another, respectively.

The Critics Choice Awards are known as an important early indicator ahead of major events like the Golden Globe Awards and the Academy Awards.

Because of this, the result has drawn attention as fans and industry watchers closely follow the film’s awards journey.

Despite the setback, No Other Choice is still moving forward with major nominations. The film has been nominated at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards, including Best Picture (Musical or Comedy), Best Actor for Lee Byung Hun, and Best Foreign Language Film.

Lee Byung Hun’s Best Actor nomination is especially notable, as he is competing alongside well known Hollywood actors such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Ethan Hawke, George Clooney, and Timothée Chalamet.

In addition, No Other Choice has also been named to the shortlist for Best International Feature Film at the upcoming 98th Academy Awards, keeping its hopes alive as the awards season continues.
