BTS member V is receiving messages of concern and support from fans around the world after personally speaking about an ongoing hearing problem that he says has affected him for more than two years.

During a Weverse Live broadcast on August 12, V, also known as Kim Taehyung, explained that there is a noticeable difference between his left and right ear.

V said, “If I were to say the hearing in my left ear is 100, I can only hear about 30 with my right ear.”

According to V, the issue began around two and a half years ago and became worse during his military service. He also said that he is currently receiving treatment, taking medication, and visiting the hospital regularly while continuing his schedule for the ARIRANG world tour.

His comments were later covered by several international media outlets, including BBC, Billboard, Rolling Stone, and Variety, bringing wider attention to his disclosure.

Following the broadcast, many overseas fans shared supportive messages, while others opened up about their own experiences with hearing difficulties.

One concerned fan wrote, “Are there any medical professionals here? Is there a way for Taehyung to get his hearing back? This makes me so sad.”

Another fan expressed hope after seeing people benefit from different medical treatments, writing that advances in medicine gave them confidence that V could receive appropriate care depending on his condition.

Some fans shared particularly personal stories.

One person recalled their mother experiencing serious hearing difficulties several years ago and explained that they once secured a concert spot near the barricade so she could experience the performance up close before her hearing became worse.

The fan wrote, “My mom went through the same thing eight years ago. I got a spot near the barricade so she could see them closely before she completely lost her hearing.”

They added that hearing V discuss his condition brought back strong emotions, especially after remembering a previous concert moment when BTS members noticed their mother's sign.

Another fan shared their own childhood experience, explaining, “I also lost my hearing when I was young, and for almost two years, nobody realized that I couldn’t hear properly.”

The fan said their hearing had significantly decreased by the time the problem was discovered, but added that they later recovered after receiving medical treatment.

At the same time, some fans urged others to avoid spreading unverified medical information or assuming that every case of hearing loss can be treated in the same way.

One fan wrote, “Hearing loss is not a one-size-fits-all condition. Everyone should learn more and listen to people who actually experience it.”

The comment drew attention to the fact that hearing difficulties can have different causes and outcomes, making professional medical evaluation important rather than relying on online speculation.

V’s disclosure has led many fans to focus less on guessing about his condition and more on wishing him well as he continues treatment and his activities.

A separate clip of Jungkook gently adjusting V’s clothing also gained attention around the same time, with fans finding the interaction touching as both members continue their busy schedules.

For many fans, however, V’s candid comments about his hearing remain the main concern, with supporters sharing their own experiences while hoping that he continues receiving appropriate medical care and sufficient time to recover.
