The cast of Hope met moviegoers in Daejeon as the film continued its fourth week of theater promotions.
On August 8, distributor Plus M Entertainment shared several photos from the weekend stage greeting and wrote, “First day of the fourth-weekend stage greetings with Daejeon! We’re ready to head back to theaters again tomorrow.”
The photos featured director Na Hong Jin alongside stars Hwang Jung Min, Jo In Sung, Jung Ho Yeon, and Eum Moon Suk as they greeted local audiences.
Jo In Sung especially caught attention by appearing in a Hanwha Eagles baseball jersey. Known as a longtime fan of the team, the actor received an enthusiastic response from fans in Daejeon.
Hwang Jung Min was also seen smiling brightly alongside his co-stars during the event. The actor has recently been the subject of public discussion surrounding personal-life claims, but the stage greeting focused on his appearance with the Hope team and their interaction with moviegoers.
Released on July 15, Hope follows mysterious events that begin after an extraterrestrial life form appears near Hopo Port, located close to the Demilitarized Zone.
The film marks director Na Hong Jin’s first new feature in about a decade following The Wailing in 2016.
As of August 8, Hope had attracted approximately 4.36 million moviegoers in South Korea, continuing its theatrical run into its fourth week.
