
The original soundtrack (OST) of the Netflix animated hit K-POP Demon Hunters, which made history by topping the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, has also made its mark in South Korea’s karaoke charts.
According to TJ Media, the leading karaoke system company, Woozi (real name Jo Seung Yeon)’s “Drowning” was the most played song from January to December 7 this year.
Hwang Ga Ram’s “I’m a Firefly” came in second, while rookie singer Jo Jazz’s “Do You Not Know” secured third place.
Last year’s top song, Lee Chang Seop’s “Cheonsangyeon”, dropped to fourth. TJ Media noted that male solo ballad songs have topped the annual karaoke charts for five consecutive years.
Classic hits also continued their popularity, with Buzz’s “My Love (And)” ranking 5th, Lee Ji’s “Emergency Room” at 6th, and “I Don’t Know Men” in 8th place, showing that 2000s hits are still loved by karaoke fans.
The OST “Golden” from Ke De Heon, which captured global attention through the Netflix film, ranked 9th overall in domestic karaoke charts.
Notably, among new songs added to karaoke this year, “Golden” rose to 3rd place, showing strong popularity.
Another OST track, “Soda Pop”, also made the top 10, confirming that the Ke De Heon soundtrack is a karaoke favorite in South Korea.
