Actress Kim Yoo Jung opened up about how she and Kim Do Hoon reacted when dating rumors between them suddenly spread online.
During the press conference for their upcoming TVING drama Dear X held on October 30 in Seoul, Kim Yoo Jung recalled the moment the news came out.
Earlier this year, the two were spotted together at an airport in Vietnam, and both posted photos from a trip to Nha Trang around the same time — leading fans to wonder if they were secretly dating. The rumor quickly spread, but it was later clarified to be a misunderstanding.
Kim Yoo Jung laughed as she explained, “I think we called almost right away. We had just finished our schedule in Busan and went our separate ways, but as soon as we got on the phone, we just laughed for about three minutes straight.”
She added, “We even laughed a lot when we talked with the director later on. From our point of view, we took it as a sign that people were interested, and we hoped it would help the drama do well.”
Kim Do Hoon also chimed in, saying, “We laughed a lot during the call too.”
Fans praised how the two handled the situation with humor and professionalism, showing off their close friendship rather than awkwardness.
Kim Yoo Jung and Kim Do Hoon will appear together in TVING’s new series Dear X, premiering on November 6.
