Kim Woo Bin had fans laughing as he shared an unexpected behind-the-scenes story from the set of Netflix’s Genie, Make a Wish.
In a new video released on the Ddeun Ddeun channel on September 27, the actor recalled a moment while doing CGI scan work in front of hundreds of cameras.
He explained, “You either have to stay expressionless or make the expressions they ask for. I was doing it for hours, and then one staff member said, ‘Please smile a little.’ I thought, ‘Huh?’ and it caught me off guard.”
He went on, “At first I ignored it, but a little later they said again, ‘Please shoot while smiling.’ I got annoyed because it wasn’t related to the work. I even asked, ‘But why do I have to smile for this?’”
Kim Woo Bin then revealed the twist: “That person came closer, fixed my outfit, and said, ‘If you smile while shooting, doesn’t it feel good?’ I thought it was really strange, and then I looked up — it was In Sung hyung. He had just come by the set and was playing a prank on me.”
Hearing the story, Yang Se Chan laughed, “In Sung hyung must have felt embarrassed too,” while Yoo Jae Suk joked, “His name is In Sung (meaning virtue). The rhyme fits perfectly.” Kim Woo Bin added with a smile, “Thanks to him, the mood lightened up.”
