Singer Kwon Eun Bi is winning hearts for her generosity toward her managers.
On the August 23 preview of MBC’s variety show The Manager, a clip titled “The landlord is Kwon Eun Bi?! Her managers live as tenants in her building” caught everyone’s attention.
In the video, Kwon Eun Bi called one of her managers while working at a café, asking him to come down and test a new menu. To everyone’s surprise, the manager simply came downstairs from the same building.
The manager explained, “Eun Bi noona gave me a room, so I moved in as a tenant. I was originally renting near the company, but she offered me a room at a much lower price than the market."
The manager added, "She wanted me to save money and live more comfortably. At first, I felt bad and refused several times, but now I love it. I don’t want to leave.”
It was revealed that two of Kwon Eun Bi’s managers live in her building. Manager Sung Jae stays in a two-room on the first floor, a regular tenant lives on the second floor, and the youngest manager occupies the rooftop room.
Kwon Eun Bi shared her reason, saying, “Since we work together, the managers go through so much, and they’re still just starting their careers. I wanted to do something to help. They felt bad at first, but I told them not to think like that. I just wanted them to live with less worry.”
When asked by Yang Se Hyung what would happen if the managers worked for another celebrity in the future, she replied, “I already thought of that, but I told them to live here as long as they want."
She added, "They do pay rent, but only the minimum they can handle so it won’t be a burden. Making it completely free would actually make them uncomfortable. We signed a two-year contract.”
Meanwhile, fans were reminded that back in March, it was revealed Kwon Eun Bi purchased a 2.4 billion won house in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, which has now become a home for her managers as well.
