Choi Si Hoon opened up about old rumors and shared an emotional apology to his wife, singer Ailee.

On the August 23 broadcast of MBN’s Let’s Go GO Season 5, the couple appeared together and talked honestly about their struggles.

When host Hong Hyun Hee asked how he joined Single’s Inferno, Choi Si Hoon explained, “I had acted a bit before and wanted to challenge myself. I worked hard and got the casting offer through social media. Back then, I didn’t find it hard to be around people, so I naturally accepted.”

But Hong Hyun Hee also brought up the tough times, reminding him, “When you appeared on Single’s Inferno, there were rumors. It must have been difficult,” referring to the “host bar player” gossip.

Choi Si Hoon admitted, “It was really hard. I spent time sitting in the corner of a parking lot, even started smoking again after quitting. I kept thinking, how do I prove I didn’t do something I never did? It was painful. I distanced myself from acting because I felt so hurt by the world.”

Ailee then revealed another challenge, “I didn’t want us to get too much public attention, but after meeting me, it happened again. During our honeymoon, a strange rumor spread saying he was the CEO managing women who do adult shows."

She added, "We were supposed to enjoy our honeymoon, but that gave us stress. Thankfully, we were together, so we supported each other.”

Fellow guest Brian advised, “At times like that, just put the phone away and enjoy yourselves,” to which Ailee agreed, “That’s what we did.”

Choi Si Hoon expressed guilt toward his wife, saying, “The entertainment industry is already full of hardships, but because of me, she had to suffer even more. I felt so sorry.”

But the mood lightened as Ahn Jung Hwan comforted him by saying, “You don’t need to worry about things like that,” while Hong Hyun Hee added, “Ailee trusts you.”

Ailee then lovingly said,“I just want my husband to do everything he wants. He lets me do everything I want too.”
