Actor Lee Chae Min has surprised fans by revealing that he was a top student back in his school days.
On the August 16 episode of tvN’s weekend drama Bon Appetit, Your Majesty, cast members YoonA, Lee Chae Min, Kang Han Na, Kim Kwang Gyu, and Seo Yi Sook appeared together.
When asked if he always dreamed of being an actor, Lee Chae Min shared, “I wanted to become an elementary school teacher. I also wanted to try being a pianist.”
Kim Kwang Gyu then joked, “Do you know how to play the piano? You must have met the right father. What does your father do?”
Meanwhile, YoonA shared that she was always interested in cooking, saying, “I even thought that later I might properly learn it and do something with it. Since this drama is about cooking, I enjoyed it even more. There’s a lot of cooking in it, so it feels like I’m living out that dream.”

Later in the show, the production team prepared a quiz about Lee Chae Min, recalling his breakout role in Crash Course in Romance.
The question revealed that, like his smart character in the drama, Lee Chae Min also excelled in school — earning top grades in most mock exams. His highest school ranking was 6th place overall in his entire middle school.
Kim Kwang Gyu commented, “No wonder. You memorize long lines so well.”
Seo Yi Sook also praised him, saying, “He’s proof that someone good at studying can also act well. He keeps mumbling his lines all the time, to the point it’s noisy. I also practice by mumbling, but he’s even more extreme. And it’s charming.”
