On the August 4th broadcast of SBS Power FM’s “12 O’Clock with Joo Hyun Young,” actress Gong Seung Yeon made a fun appearance to promote her latest Channel A drama, “My Lovely Journey.”
The drama tells the heartwarming story of a former idol who was never in the spotlight. Now working as a travel reporter, she goes on meaningful trips requested by viewers and slowly starts to discover what success and life truly mean.
Gong Seung Yeon plays Kang Yeoreum, the main character—a former idol who now interviews travelers and shares their stories.
During the radio show, host Joo Hyun Young asked if Seung Yeon had to do any idol-like performances in the drama, like dancing in flashbacks, and if she got any help from her younger sister, TWICE’s Jeongyeon.
Seung Yeon laughed and said, “Yes, I even danced on stage in the drama. But honestly… I didn’t tell Jeongyeon about the role. I was too shy. I thought she might laugh at me.”
She continued, “I didn’t really tell her the details, but I’ve learned a lot just by watching her. She’s really on another level as a performer.”
When asked about Jeongyeon’s reaction to her acting, Gong Seung Yeon replied with a smile, “She’s probably on tour in Chicago right now, so I don’t think she’s had a chance to see it yet.”
Fans were touched by the sweet sibling moment and Seung Yeon’s humble words, especially knowing how close the sisters are in real life.
