Girls' Generation's YoonA recently opened up about what she believes makes someone the true "center" of a group — and surprisingly, it's not about looks.
On the August 3 episode of JTBC's variety show Please Take Care of My Refrigerator since 2014, YoonA appeared as a guest alongside actor Ahn Bo Hyun.
During the episode, host Kim Sung Joo brought up YoonA's legendary status in K-pop, saying, “You're considered the starting point of the ‘center’ position in K-pop idol history.”
He then asked her, “What do you think makes someone a center?”

YoonA answered thoughtfully, “I think it’s about harmony. You need the kind of energy that can balance both sides well.”

Trying to tease her, Kim Sung Joo jokingly asked, “So you’re saying Taeyeon, Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, and Yuri can’t balance both sides well?”
YoonA laughed and quickly replied, “No, no. Any of our members could be in the center and still create harmony,” showing her love and respect for the Girls' Generation members.
Later, when asked who she thinks is the "center" among the chefs on the show, YoonA picked Chef Choi Hyun Seok.
She explained, “In my opinion, Chef Choi Hyun Seok seems to bring harmony well. He shows both performance and attitude in a balanced way.”
