Girls’ Generation’s Im Yoon Ah is ready to heat things up — literally — in her newest role as a passionate chef in tvN’s upcoming fantasy rom-com The Tyrant’s Chef’, set to premiere this August.

In the drama, Yoon Ah plays Youn Ji Young, a top-tier chef with bold charm and tons of talent. After winning a prestigious cooking competition in France, she's on track to lead a three-star restaurant. But things take a wild turn when she time-travels into the past and ends up meeting a fearsome but flavor-savvy tyrant king. The result? A recipe for love, survival, and kitchen showdowns.

In newly revealed still cuts, Im Yoon Ah gives off serious “chef boss” vibes, wearing her chef’s uniform and confidently owning the kitchen. Her character isn’t just about taste — she delivers epic fire shows and artistic plating that make her food as fun to look at as it is to eat. Whether she's lighting flames or carefully garnishing a dish, she brings intense focus and flair.

With her natural energy, sharp expressions, and true love for cooking, Youn Ji Young is expected to become one of K-drama’s most memorable chefs. Fans are already buzzing about what kinds of “soul food” she’ll serve and what kind of romantic heat will spark between her and the king.

The production team shared, “Im Yoon Ah practiced a lot to bring her chef character to life — from working with real ingredients to learning how to plate like a pro. People on set kept saying, ‘Her hands are seriously skilled.’ She completely became Youn Ji Young.”

‘The Tyrant’s Chef’, planned by Studio Dragon and produced by Film Grida and Jung Universe, is directed by Jang Tae Yoo (known for My Love from the Star) and written by fGRD. With its mix of fantasy, comedy, cooking, and romance — and Yoon Ah at the center — this drama is expected to be a tasty hit.

Stay tuned for the premiere this August, and get ready to fall for Chef Im Yoon Ah and her fiery charm!
