BLACKPINK’s Jennie is proving once again why she’s a global star, as her first full solo album “Ruby” has been officially named one of the Best Albums of 2025 by both Billboard and NME.
On June 26 (local time), the U.K.’s leading music outlet NME praised Jennie’s solo work, calling Ruby a “bold and original new record.” The magazine added,
“Jennie has taken control of her own mythology with stunning clarity,”
and highlighted “Zen” as one of the standout tracks from the album.
But this isn’t the first time Jennie’s Ruby has received global recognition.
Earlier this year, Billboard, Rolling Stone, and Complex also named Ruby one of the best albums of the year—making Jennie the only K-pop artist to be included on all three major lists.
Ruby is an album that Jennie personally produced, filling it with her own vision, identity, and wide musical range. It features 15 tracks, including the hit title track “like JENNIE”, and explores multiple genres.
Jennie didn’t just receive critical praise—she smashed records too.
With Ruby, Jennie recorded the highest first-week album sales for any female K-pop soloist in 2025, selling over 661,000 copies. She also became the first K-pop female solo artist to have three songs chart on the Billboard HOT 100 at the same time, proving her global power and setting a new milestone in K-pop history.
From critical acclaim to chart domination, Jennie’s Ruby is more than just an album—it’s a moment, and fans are here for it.
