Actress Kim Yoo Jung is celebrating a major milestone — her 22nd year since debut, and she’s looking back with a calm heart and a strong mindset.
The beloved star recently appeared on the cover of Cosmopolitan Korea’s July issue, where she showed off a stunning mix of elegance and peace in a concept titled “A peaceful midday at a mysterious summer villa.” The shoot captured Kim Yoo Jung’s graceful charm, making it feel like a scene from a summer film.
After the shoot, she opened up about her life lately, saying, “It was fun filming in nature. I wore a green outfit today, and it matched the weather so well — I really liked it.”
Having wrapped up her next drama, the actress shared that she’s now taking time to rest, “I just finished filming recently, so I’m enjoying a break. I’ve been traveling, getting fresh air, and resting at home.”
Fans can look forward to seeing her next in the TVING original series ‘Dear X,’ a romantic thriller based on a popular webtoon. Kim Yoo Jung plays Baek Ah Jin, a top actress hiding behind a mask to survive in a twisted world, while a man tries to save her from it.
About taking on the role, she said honestly, “I heard it was a well-known and fun webtoon, but at first, I actually hesitated. The character felt difficult and a little scary. But after talking with the director, I gained courage."
She added, "He explained in detail why I needed to be the one to play Baek Ah Jin. I value teamwork, and I trusted the people I’d be working with — that’s what helped me decide.”
Now 22 years into her career, Kim Yoo Jung reflected on what she’s learned along the way, “I’ve realized that feeling comfortable and free is what matters most."
She added, "If I try to control myself too much, I use my own kind of mind control to stop that pressure. I think that mindset is really important — not just in acting but in everyday life. I don’t want to feel trapped.”
When asked when she feels the most fearless, she gave a charming answer, “I think it’s when I’m dreaming. In my dreams, I can fly or beat up villains. After a good dream, I feel like I can do anything the next day.”
