Honey J, the leader of HolyBang and a past winner of Street Woman Fighter, was unexpectedly chosen as the “worst dancer” on Street Woman Fighter 3 — not because of her dancing, but because of a language barrier.
On the June 10 episode of Mnet’s Street Woman Fighter 3, the leaders of six dance crews had to learn a routine choreographed by RH Tokyo’s Riehata. The mission was to fight for the center spot in the team’s dance video, and each leader had to show off their skills.
While all the other leaders were able to communicate easily in English or Japanese, Honey J struggled to understand the instructions and conversations. This made it harder for her to keep up.

“I really felt a wall,” Honey J shared during the show. “I couldn’t join the conversation. I don’t speak English well. I kept thinking, ‘I wish I were more famous.’ I realized I’ve only worked inside Korea.”
Because of the communication issue, Honey J had more trouble learning the choreography than the others. Riehata eventually picked her as a possible “worst dancer” before the filming, and despite Honey J asking questions and trying to add her own style, she was officially chosen as the worst in the final results.
Riehata explained her decision, saying, “It wasn’t that she was bad. I just wanted her to show more power. I know the language problem made things hard, but I hoped she could still show her strengths through the dance.”
Honey J, holding back tears, said, “I did my best, but if that’s how it looked, I can’t argue. I tried to lift my energy, but I started feeling worse and worse. I really hate this show. It makes you feel stupid. It crushes your pride. Mentally, it’s so hard. I feel sorry to my team. I’ve lost my motivation. Dance was my whole life, but now I’ve lost both my self-esteem and confidence.”
The scene sparked strong reactions online, especially since Street Woman Fighter 3 is a Korean show, yet a Korean dancer was labeled the worst for not speaking English or Japanese.
Many netizens found it unfair, commenting:
- “It’s a Korean show. Why does she need to speak English?”
- “This isn’t just about dance skills.”
- “Is the show just trying to push Riehata?”
Fans are now questioning whether Street Woman Fighter 3 is staying true to its purpose — or if it’s creating unfair pressure in the name of being “global.”
