Boy group ENHYPEN recently opened up about their emotions as they are very close to becoming a double million seller with their latest album.
The seven-member group (Jung Won, Hee Seung, Jay, Jake, Sung Hoon, Sunoo, and Ni Ki) attended a special media event called Evening of 'DESIRE : UNLEASH' on June 7 at the Bunker in Yeouido, Seoul. This event was held in partnership with Spotify to celebrate their 6th mini album DESIRE : UNLEASH, which was released on June 5.
At the event, ENHYPEN introduced the Maison ENHYPEN pop-up space, which was designed to match the album’s themes. The space is already a fan favorite, attracting many visitors.
ENHYPEN’s new album topped charts both in South Korea and worldwide. According to the Hanteo Chart, on the album’s release day, June 5, it sold an incredible 1,890,677 copies — breaking their own record for the highest first-day album sales. The combined sales for June 5 and 6 reached 1,932,792 copies. They also claimed the #1 spot on the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart.
Sung Hoon expressed his happiness about the success, saying, “First of all, many people worked really hard on this album, so it feels great that it’s doing so well. Most of all, our ENGENE fans love it, which makes me very proud and thankful.”
He also shared about the busy comeback schedule, “We were preparing for the album while also getting ready for Coachella. We finished the album first, then started practicing for Coachella, so it feels like we’ve been practicing for a long time. It has become more natural for us, so I think we can perform with more confidence.”
Leader Jung Won added with a smile, “I always feel this way. When the album we prepare is strong and confident, I really want to give spoilers. During live broadcasts or fan meetings, I was so excited that I couldn’t hide it well. I ended up spoiling some things,” he laughed.
With this amazing comeback and the close approach to selling over 2 million copies, ENHYPEN continues to prove their strong global influence and growing power in the K-pop industry.
