GOT7 member and actor Park Jin Young has revealed just how close he is to DAY6's Wonpil, sharing that their phone conversations can last as long as 10 hours.
On the October 30 broadcast of KBS2's music variety show The Seasons – Sung Si Kyung's Eardrum Boyfriend, Park Jin Young appeared as a guest and talked about his music, acting career, and longtime friendship with Wonpil.
During the episode, Park Jin Young performed EVERLOVE, the title track of his second mini-album released in May, on television for the first time.
He also expressed his gratitude to the musicians who helped create the album, including Choi Yu Ree, Gureum, and DAY6's Wonpil.
Speaking about their collaboration, he shared, "I got to make an album with good people, and it made me wonder if I was just lucky to have them."
However, it was his story about Wonpil that particularly highlighted their close friendship.
Park Jin Young explained that he and Wonpil have known each other since they were 17-year-old trainees. Their friendship has continued over the years, even as they pursued their respective careers in GOT7 and DAY6.
Revealing how much they enjoy talking to each other, Park Jin Young said, "When we talk on the phone, it ends up being around 10 hours. He's such a good person that we always have a lot to talk about."
He then gave an impromptu performance of Seventeen, a song inspired by their shared experiences and longtime friendship.
Park Jin Young also briefly discussed his acting career. Currently appearing in tvN's historical drama 100 Days of Lies, he reflected on how he has approached different opportunities throughout his career.
He explained, "I've come this far with the mindset of trying whatever I can when good opportunities come my way."
The singer-actor also performed his own interpretation of the late Kim Kwang Seok's Around Thirty, earning praise from host Sung Si Kyung.
While Park Jin Young showcased his musical talent throughout the episode, his revelation about spending up to 10 hours talking with Wonpil offered a glimpse into their friendship, which has lasted since their teenage trainee days.
