Actress Shin Min Ah has opened up about an unexpected challenge that comes with having a long career in the entertainment industry, revealing that many directors she works with are now younger than her.

On October 30, the 42-year-old actress appeared on comedian Lee Eun Ji's YouTube channel, where the two discussed their experiences in the industry and the responsibilities that come with becoming more senior.

During their conversation, Lee Eun Ji talked about her experience on the variety show Earth Arcade, admitting that taking on the role of an older member can sometimes be difficult.

Shin Min Ah immediately agreed, saying, "I know exactly what you mean."

Lee Eun Ji then asked whether Shin Min Ah is now considered a senior whenever she arrives on a filming set.

Shin Min Ah replied, "At some point, I started noticing that directors were younger than me. That happens quite often now."

The actress explained that her growing experience has also changed how people interpret her words.

She shared that something she might have casually said when she was a new actress could carry a completely different meaning today because of her seniority.

"The same words I said when I had just debuted can be received differently now. I realized that something I say casually might sound forceful to someone else," she explained.

Her comments highlighted how she has become more mindful of the influence she may have on younger colleagues and people working around her.

Later in the conversation, Lee Eun Ji asked Shin Min Ah whether she follows a personal motto when approaching her work.

The actress explained that she believes in giving her best effort without pushing herself to the point of getting hurt.

"I try my best not to give up until the end, but only to the point where I don't hurt myself," Shin Min Ah said.

She also admitted that there are moments when she continues pushing herself even when she knows it may be difficult or harmful.

"Sometimes, you keep going even when you know you're getting hurt. That can happen, but I think what's important is being aware of it," she added.
