• Ailee Explains Why Choi Si Hoon Didn’t Propose—But His Sweet Nickname Will Melt Your Heart

Singer Ailee opened up about her romance with her fiancé, actor Choi Si Hoon, sharing heartwarming and funny moments from their journey to the altar.

On the January 11 episode of MBC’s Hangout With Yoo (Episode 262), the show featured a winter-themed segment titled "Christmas in the 13th Month", highlighting cozy seasonal music. Ailee appeared with John Park as one of the must-hear voices for the season.

Host Yoo Jae Suk couldn’t help but congratulate Ailee on her upcoming wedding in April, jokingly saying, "You’re marrying someone from Single’s Inferno," referring to Choi Si Hoon’s rise to fame. Laughing, Ailee responded, "That’s right, I escaped hell!"

When asked if she received a romantic proposal, Ailee shared her thoughts. "I didn’t get one, which feels a bit strange. In the U.S., people propose first before starting to plan the wedding, saying, 'Will you marry me?' Here, it’s different."

She added,"People date with marriage in mind and start preparing without the grand gesture", she explained.

She added with a laugh, "When we went to pick out rings, I just pointed and said, 'I want this one,' and that was it".

Ailee also shared a sweet detail about their wedding announcement. "In the official statement, he used my nickname! I’ve never seen anyone do that before. He wrote, 'I will take care of our Princess Yejin'. It was so sweet", she said, smiling.

Fans are counting down the days until Ailee ties the knot with Choi Si Hoon, with the couple’s wedding set for April 20. What do you think about their adorable love story? Let us know in the comments!
