• Hyeri Shares How She Lost 5kg by Cutting Carbs: "I Didn't Want to Exercise…"

Hyeri, former Girl's Day member and now a popular actress, recently opened up about her weight loss journey, revealing that she shed 5kg by avoiding carbohydrates.

On August 16, Hyeri appeared on the YouTube channel '117' in an episode titled "What's Up With You? You Keep Becoming 'Dexon' in Front of Hyeri." During the interview, Hyeri shared some personal stories and insights into her life.

Hyeri talked about her eating habits, demonstrating a dish made with chicken thigh meat and zucchini. She confessed, "I’m not much of a cook, but I save a lot of recipes from social media. Sometimes, I’m too lazy to cook, and if I crave something like chicken feet, I just can't make it. I usually eat a lot and don’t really know what it feels like to be full."

She then revealed her method for losing weight: cutting out carbs. "When I was filming 'Victory,' I gained quite a bit of weight, even though my role didn’t require it. When I told the director, he said, ‘I never asked you to do that.’ After filming, I needed to lose the weight, but I didn’t want to exercise."

Hyeri continued, "So, I stopped eating carbs for five months and lost about 4-5kg. I originally planned to avoid carbs until Christmas Eve, to enjoy champagne with my parents, but I ended up stopping earlier. I was worried people might catch me eating carbs after I said I wouldn’t, so I just quit," she said with a laugh.

Back in May, Hyeri mentioned on her YouTube channel that she had been off carbs for four months, and after three months, her skin started to improve. She added, "Even on my days off, I indulge, but I never skip my skincare routine when a project is coming up."

  • Lee Jun Young says he felt guilty and cried after acting mean to a grandma in 'Brave Citizen'

Lee Jun Young recently opened up about the emotional toll of playing a villain—and how one powerful scene made him break down in tears behind the scenes.

On the May 1st episode of KBS 2TV’s variety show Problem Child in House, Lee Jun Young appeared alongside co-star Jung Eun Ji to promote their new KBS drama Pump Up the Healthy Love.

During the show, Lee Jun Young was asked about the most unforgettable villain he’s played. He chose his role as Han Su Gang in the film Brave Citizen.

He explained, “It was really tough to film. I had to act like I was leading school violence, and there was even a scene where I bullied a grandmother.”

The hosts were surprised, pointing out how kind and gentle he seems in real life. Lee Jun Young shared how he transforms for such roles.

“I try to act as bad as I can, but sometimes the director says, ‘You still look too nice.’ Then I focus even harder and adjust right away.”

He also revealed that filming one particular scene hit him hard emotionally. “My real grandmother was sick at the time,” he said.

“In one scene, there’s a grandma selling gimbap, and I ad-libbed by stubbing a cigarette out on the gimbap. I was really into character, but after filming, I just broke down. So many thoughts came to me and I started crying.”

Fans praised his dedication to acting but also felt moved by how deeply the role affected him. Lee Jun Young’s honesty gave a raw look at how even fictional roles can hit close to home.
