THE BOYZ’s Sunwoo is reportedly starting a new chapter in his individual career after signing an exclusive contract with AT AREA.
According to a report on August 7, Sunwoo has signed with AT AREA, the hip-hop label founded by producer duo GroovyRoom. He is expected to handle his solo activities through the label while continuing to promote as a member of THE BOYZ.
Sunwoo debuted with THE BOYZ in 2017 and has participated in releases including Reveal, The Stealer, Thrill Ride, Watch It, and Trigger.
Known for his skills in rap, vocals, and dance, Sunwoo has also continued developing his abilities as a songwriter and composer. Before his debut, he appeared on Mnet’s High School Rapper, while more recently he participated as a featured artist on Kiss Kiss Kiss for Show Me the Money 12.
He has also shared self-produced music through THE BOYZ albums and SoundCloud, showing another side of his musical style outside the group’s official releases.
AT AREA currently represents artists including Yuju, Mirani, and GEMINI.
Meanwhile, nine members of THE BOYZ, including Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, Q, Sunwoo, and Eric, reportedly signed a group agreement on August 6 to continue THE BOYZ activities under a new label structure.
The members had previously notified former agency ONE HUNDRED of their intention to end their exclusive contracts in February. They later sought an injunction regarding the contracts, which was granted by a court in April.
With his reported move to AT AREA, Sunwoo is now expected to expand his individual music activities while remaining active with THE BOYZ.
