• Former T-ara Member Ahreum Sent to Prosecutors for Alleged Fraud Involving 37 Million KRW

Former T-ara member Ahreum has been sent to prosecutors on fraud charges after allegedly scamming fans out of tens of millions of KRW.

On August 12th, the Gwangmyeong Police Station in Gyeonggi Province revealed that Ahreum was transferred to the prosecution late last month, though she wasn't detained.

She's accused of borrowing around 37 million KRW from three people, including a fan, and not paying it back.

Since late last year, Ahreum has been suspected of scamming fans and acquaintances. Victims reported that she borrowed money, citing personal issues involving her boyfriend, and then failed to return it. Multiple police reports were filed between March and May.

During the investigation, police found that Ahreum's ex-boyfriend, Mr. A, also took part in the scheme by extorting some of the money from the victims.

He was sent to the prosecution along with Ahreum. At first, Ahreum denied the charges but later confessed, claiming she acted alone. Mr. A, however, denied any involvement.

Ahreum debuted with T-ara in July 2012 but left the group a year later. In 2019, she married Mr. B and had two sons, but she filed for divorce last year, citing domestic violence. At the same time, she announced plans to remarry her boyfriend, Mr. A, which drew public attention.

Ahreum and Mr. A are now facing allegations of defrauding over 40 million KRW, with rumors that the money was used for sports gambling. Ahreum previously claimed these accusations were the work of a hacker.

Additionally, Ahreum was sent to prosecutors last May on charges of child abuse, abandonment, neglect, and kidnapping. Her children are reportedly being cared for in a facility due to the ongoing issues surrounding her.

Lee Jun Young recently opened up about the emotional toll of playing a villain—and how one powerful scene made him break down in tears behind the scenes.

On the May 1st episode of KBS 2TV’s variety show Problem Child in House, Lee Jun Young appeared alongside co-star Jung Eun Ji to promote their new KBS drama Pump Up the Healthy Love.

During the show, Lee Jun Young was asked about the most unforgettable villain he’s played. He chose his role as Han Su Gang in the film Brave Citizen.

He explained, “It was really tough to film. I had to act like I was leading school violence, and there was even a scene where I bullied a grandmother.”

The hosts were surprised, pointing out how kind and gentle he seems in real life. Lee Jun Young shared how he transforms for such roles.

“I try to act as bad as I can, but sometimes the director says, ‘You still look too nice.’ Then I focus even harder and adjust right away.”

He also revealed that filming one particular scene hit him hard emotionally. “My real grandmother was sick at the time,” he said.

“In one scene, there’s a grandma selling gimbap, and I ad-libbed by stubbing a cigarette out on the gimbap. I was really into character, but after filming, I just broke down. So many thoughts came to me and I started crying.”
