BTS’s Jung Kook is drawing renewed attention for his massive Spotify numbers after making a surprise appearance at Spotify House Seoul in Seongsu, Seoul.
On September 10, Jung Kook unexpectedly attended the Spotify event, with the appearance reportedly not announced to fans in advance. Wearing an all black outfit, the BTS member greeted those gathered at the venue and was also seen enjoying the performances and food.
His appearance comes as his solo debut single Seven continues to build on its major streaming milestone on Spotify.
According to the reported Spotify figures, Seven has surpassed 3.079 billion streams and is approaching 3.1 billion. The song previously became the first track by an Asian artist to reach 3 billion Spotify streams in the shortest reported time.
Jung Kook has also achieved another notable Spotify milestone with Seven and Standing Next to You, with both songs exceeding 1.5 billion streams. This reportedly makes him the first K pop solo artist to have multiple songs pass that level on the platform.
During Spotify House Seoul, Jung Kook was also seen greeting Grammy winning producer and Major Lazer member Diplo, who has previously praised his vocals.
Diplo once said of Jung Kook, “No autotune, perfect voice.”
The producer has worked with global artists including Justin Bieber, Beyoncé, Madonna, and Dua Lipa.
With Seven already beyond 3 billion streams and moving closer to 3.1 billion, Jung Kook’s surprise appearance at the Spotify event has brought fresh attention to the scale of his solo streaming success.
