• Brian Opens Up About Why He's Still Single at 43

On the April 25 episode of MBC’s ‘Where is My Home’, singers Park Joon Hyung and Brian embarked on a mission to find a countryside home near the capital for a father living alone.

In this episode, they sought a new rural home for the client’s father, currently residing in Uiseong, Gyeongsang Province, desiring to spend his twilight years amidst nature. His family, concerned about his solitary life, is searching for a rural house near the capital for easy visits.

The preferred locations were Cheonan in Chungcheongnam-do and Ganghwa in Incheon. They desired a property with ample space for farming and a yard, with a hospital, train station, and terminal within a 30-minute drive.

The ideal property would have a spacious yard, kitchen, and warehouse for family gatherings on weekends. Their budget was set between 200 to 300 million KRW (145,760~218,640 USD).

As the two singers journeyed with comedian Jang Dong Min, Park Joon Hyung shared anecdotes about his married life and living with his wife and daughter.

He revealed, “When I first got married, I had many arguments with my wife for the first six months. My wife is similar to Brian. I prefer to clean all at once, but she can’t stand the mess.” However, Park Joon Hyung confessed, “There are things I can’t stand either. It’s dishes piled up in the sink and unorganized garbage.”

Brian pointed out, “You’re more obsessive with cleaning than I am,” to which Park Joon Hyung responded, “It’s one thing if I only nag and don’t clean, but I clean everything myself.” In response, comedian Jang Dong Min shared, “Even Park Joon Hyung is like this, aren’t you going to be like him too when you get married?”

Brian argued, “I don’t need to worry about that. Marriage? It’s not for me.” Jang Dong Min replied, “People who always say they’re not getting married, come to me to say, ‘Oh I’m getting married next month.’”

However, Brian refuted, “That might be plausible if I was in my 20s or 30s. But when you get to your 40s, ‘Marriage’ becomes something ‘unnecessary’.”

The conversation continued at the filming studio where Jang Dong Min explained, “We went through that phase too. But we got married.”

Park Joon Hyung added, “If you try to look for someone, you won’t find them. When you let it go, that’s when the right person comes to you. When you seek too much, you might end up with the wrong person because you’re in a hurry.”

Brian agreed and shared, “I think what Park Joon Hyung said is true because when I get introduced to people because acquaintances think I would be a good match for them, I always start seeing the flaws first which makes me lose interest. So I felt it was a waste of time.”

Park Joon Hyung empathized and added, “Effort shouldn’t be put into finding someone, but rather in getting to know each other. Setting aside all things, if you have a wife and child, that’s all that matters. Everything in life changes.”
