Ong Seong Wu’s character has taken a dramatic turn in Spooky In Love, with Kang Min Hwan emerging as a major threat just one episode before the finale.
In the August 22 episode of the tvN drama, Kang Min Hwan’s actions became increasingly extreme after Chun Yeo Ri, played by Park Eun Bin, became engaged to Ma Kang Wook, played by Yang Se Jong.
His resentment had already pushed him to secretly interfere with Yeo Ri’s position at the hotel and attempt to gain control of the company. However, the latest episode revealed that his actions were connected to a much darker secret from 12 years ago.
A recovered video showed what happened during a past yacht incident involving his younger brother Kang Ji Hwan. The footage suggested that Min Hwan had the chance to save his brother but ultimately let go of his hand.
The situation became more dangerous when Park Seung Jae, played by Kim Do Wan, discovered the footage and attempted to use it against Min Hwan.
Seung Jae demanded money and a way to escape, warning that even if Min Hwan avoided legal consequences, the scandal could destroy his public image.
Min Hwan responded, “I know people like you. It won’t end with 10 billion won. It only ends when you die.”
When Seung Jae threatened to contact Min Hwan’s mother, the confrontation turned violent, leading to Seung Jae’s death.
Min Hwan then used Yeo Ri’s message to Seung Jae to make it appear that she was connected to the scene, placing her under suspicion.
The danger continued when Min Hwan realized that Kang Wook had found an item that could connect him to what happened. He then attempted to remove that threat, but Yeo Ri became caught in the situation and was left in serious danger.
The episode confirmed that Min Hwan is no longer simply acting out of jealousy or ambition. His efforts to protect his secrets have now pushed him into increasingly serious crimes and placed the people around him at risk.
With only one episode remaining, attention is now focused on whether Min Hwan will finally face the consequences of his actions and whether Yeo Ri will survive the fallout.
