• 'Queen of Tears' casts along with Kim Soo Hyun & Kim Ji Won commemorate 20% viewership ratings with behind cuts

    Kim Soo Hyun, Kim Ji Won, and other actors of 'Queen of Tears' expressed their gratitude for surpassing a 20% viewership rating.

    On April 24, tvN drama's official social media posted "Celebrating tvN's first 20% viewership rating in 4 years" along with photos of Kim Soo Hyun, Kim Ji Won, Park Sung Hoon, Kwak Dong Yeon, and Lee Joo Bin.

    Kim Soo Hyun, Kim Ji Won, Park Sung Hoon, Kwak Dong Yeon, and Lee Joo Bin celebrated the 20% viewership rating of 'Queen of Tears' by holding balloons with the number '20'.

    The tvN weekend drama 'Queen of Tears' broke through the first 20% with a viewership rating of 20.7% (based on Nielsen Korea's nationwide paid households) in the 12th episode on April 14, and recorded 21.6% in the 14th episode broadcast on April 21, challenging the highest viewership rating of tvN drama history as it approaches the end.

    The actors each released photos expressing their feelings about the 20% viewership rating breakthrough. Kim Soo Hyun wrote, "Thank you for the 20% viewership rating. Fighting till the end," and Kim Ji Won left a message saying, "20% viewership rating. Thank you for your love."

    Park Sung Hoon said, "20% viewership rating. Thank you so much for your love that I'm moved to tears. And I'm sorry," causing laughter by apologizing for his evil deeds in the play.

    Kwak Dong Yeon conveyed, "The viewership rating is a whopping 20%? I love you all," and Lee Joo Bin left a thank you message saying, "20% viewership rating. Thank you for watching and loving us. Queen of Tears, fighting."

    Meanwhile, tvN's weekend drama 'Queen of Tears' is a story about the dizzying crisis and miraculous love story of Hong Hae In (played by Kim Ji Won), the third generation of the Queens Group conglomerate and queen of department stores, and Baek Hyun Woo (played by Kim Soo Hyun), the son of a market boss and prince of supermarkets.

    Lee Jun Young recently opened up about the emotional toll of playing a villain—and how one powerful scene made him break down in tears behind the scenes.

    On the May 1st episode of KBS 2TV’s variety show Problem Child in House, Lee Jun Young appeared alongside co-star Jung Eun Ji to promote their new KBS drama Pump Up the Healthy Love.

    During the show, Lee Jun Young was asked about the most unforgettable villain he’s played. He chose his role as Han Su Gang in the film Brave Citizen.

    He explained, “It was really tough to film. I had to act like I was leading school violence, and there was even a scene where I bullied a grandmother.”

    The hosts were surprised, pointing out how kind and gentle he seems in real life. Lee Jun Young shared how he transforms for such roles.

    “I try to act as bad as I can, but sometimes the director says, ‘You still look too nice.’ Then I focus even harder and adjust right away.”

    He also revealed that filming one particular scene hit him hard emotionally. “My real grandmother was sick at the time,” he said.

    “In one scene, there’s a grandma selling gimbap, and I ad-libbed by stubbing a cigarette out on the gimbap. I was really into character, but after filming, I just broke down. So many thoughts came to me and I started crying.”

    Fans praised his dedication to acting but also felt moved by how deeply the role affected him. Lee Jun Young’s honesty gave a raw look at how even fictional roles can hit close to home.
