• Netflix's 'Melo Movie' Brings Park Bo Young and Choi Woo Sik Together in a Fiery Collaboration

    Park Bo Young and Choi Woo Sik are teaming up to bring their chemistry to Netflix's upcoming romance drama, 'Melo Movie.'

    The streaming platform announced on February 22 that it would be producing the original series, featuring a stellar cast including Park Bo Young, Choi Woo Sik, Lee Jun Young, and Jeon So Nee.

    'Melo Movie' will explore the youthful romance between Kim Moo Bi, who works in the film industry, and movie critic Go Gyeom.

    Described as a story with cinematic-like elements, the series follows young individuals navigating uncertainties about love and their dreams.

    Through their journey, they find solace in each other, draw inspiration, and conquer their traumas together.

    Choi Woo Sik will take on the role of Go Gyeom, a film enthusiast with dreams of watching every movie in the world.

    He transitions from being an extra to a film critic. Park Bo Young will portray Kim Moo Bi, driven to enter the film world by a mix of affection and curiosity toward her father, who valued movies above all else.

    In addition to the lead duo, Lee Jun Young will play Hong Si Joon, a self-proclaimed genius composer leading an under-the-radar life.

    Jeon So Nee will bring to life Son Joo Ah, a screenplay writer and Hong Si Joon's former lover.

    Directed by Oh Chung Hwan, known for his work on 'Castaway Diva' (2023), 'Big Mouth' (2022), 'Start-Up' (2020), and 'Hotel Del Luna' (2019), 'Melo Movie' has Lee Na Eun as the scriptwriter, who previously worked on 'Our Beloved Summer' (2021).

    While the exact release date is yet to be confirmed, the casting announcement has generated anticipation for what promises to be an enthralling and heartwarming series on Netflix.

    Lee Jun Young recently opened up about the emotional toll of playing a villain—and how one powerful scene made him break down in tears behind the scenes.

    On the May 1st episode of KBS 2TV’s variety show Problem Child in House, Lee Jun Young appeared alongside co-star Jung Eun Ji to promote their new KBS drama Pump Up the Healthy Love.

    During the show, Lee Jun Young was asked about the most unforgettable villain he’s played. He chose his role as Han Su Gang in the film Brave Citizen.

    He explained, “It was really tough to film. I had to act like I was leading school violence, and there was even a scene where I bullied a grandmother.”

    The hosts were surprised, pointing out how kind and gentle he seems in real life. Lee Jun Young shared how he transforms for such roles.

    “I try to act as bad as I can, but sometimes the director says, ‘You still look too nice.’ Then I focus even harder and adjust right away.”

    He also revealed that filming one particular scene hit him hard emotionally. “My real grandmother was sick at the time,” he said.

    “In one scene, there’s a grandma selling gimbap, and I ad-libbed by stubbing a cigarette out on the gimbap. I was really into character, but after filming, I just broke down. So many thoughts came to me and I started crying.”

    Fans praised his dedication to acting but also felt moved by how deeply the role affected him. Lee Jun Young’s honesty gave a raw look at how even fictional roles can hit close to home.
