• ARMY's Were Disappointed With The Removal Of "Top Social Artist" Category In Billboard Music Awards

The 'Top Social Artist' category, which the popular idol group BTS won the 'Billboard Music Awards' for the past 5 years, has disappeared into history.

On May 16th, the '2022 US Billboard Music Awards' (BBMA) hosted by Billboard, an American music media, was held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, USA.

BTS, which was nominated for a total of six categories on the same day, was honored to receive awards in three categories: 'Top Song Sales Artist', 'Top Selling Song', and 'Top Duo/Group'.

With this, BTS became the only Korean singer who succeeded in winning the 'Billboard Music Awards' for six consecutive years.

However, the 'Top Social Artist' category, which BTS had been awarded for five consecutive years since 2017, was abolished from this year, eliminating the opportunity to receive an award.

Billboard did not disclose the reason for the sudden disappearance of the section.

While BTS fans expressed their disappointment over this, some netizens also responded, "Isn't this to prevent BTS's monopoly?"

Meanwhile, BTS, who did not participate in the awards ceremony, expressed their gratitude to BBMA and the fandom 'Army' through their official Twitter and expressed their feelings about winning three crowns.

Big Hit Music, the agency of BTS, congratulated them greatly, saying, "BTS won three crowns at this year's BBMA, proving their status as a '21st century pop icon'."

From 2017 to this year, BTS won a total of 12 trophies at the BBMA, achieving the feat of setting the record for the most awards among 'duos/groups'.

Meanwhile, BTS, which has a strong fan base around the world, is planning to release a new album 'Proof' on June 10 and cause a cataclysmic change in the music industry once again.

  • TWICE’s Jihyo buys a 4 billion won building in her 20s, proving she's one of the youngest wealthy stars

TWICE’s Jihyo has made headlines after purchasing a building worth a staggering 4 billion won in her 20s.

On May 2, Herald Economy reported that Jihyo bought a building in Seongdong-gu, Seongsu-dong 2-ga, Seoul, in early March of last year.

By the end of that month, she had completed the full payment and transferred ownership, with no mortgage attached, suggesting that the property was purchased entirely with cash.

Just a month after the purchase, Jihyo registered as a housing rental business operator and completed the registration for private rental housing.

As a housing rental business operator, she is eligible for tax benefits, such as reduced acquisition tax. However, she is also subject to certain regulations, including a 5% cap on rent increases, compliance with rental periods, and mandatory insurance for tenant deposits.

The building, which was built in 1986, has a land area of 152㎡ (45.98 pyeong) and a total floor area of 330.21㎡ (99.89 pyeong). It includes one basement level and three floors above ground.

The property is situated in Seongsu Strategic Redevelopment Zone 2, an area currently undergoing redevelopment.

Given the area's future potential, it is believed that Jihyo's investment is more focused on the property's long-term value rather than immediate rental income.
