MBC's Friday-Saturday drama The Perfect Lie, starring Yoo Yeon Seok and Seo Hyun Jin, has recorded another decline in viewership ratings as the story continues to explore conflicting claims surrounding an alleged sexual assault.
According to Nielsen Korea on November 7, Episode 3 of The Perfect Lie, which aired on November 6, recorded a nationwide rating of 1.1%.
This marked a decrease of 0.8 percentage points from the 1.9% rating achieved by Episode 2 on October 31.
The latest figures show that the drama is facing a challenging start despite its well-known lead actors and emotionally intense storyline.
In Episode 3, the conflict between Min Joon Ho, played by Yoo Yeon Seok, and Kang Ji Sun, played by Seo Hyun Jin, becomes more complicated as both characters continue to present different accounts of what happened during their date.
As the investigation develops, the characters face growing public attention, with rumors and conflicting perceptions affecting their personal and professional lives.
The episode also highlights how quickly public opinion can change when an allegation becomes widely discussed, even as questions remain about what actually happened.
Without revealing major developments, the latest installment focuses on the emotional consequences of the dispute and the changing relationship between the two central characters.
Yoo Yeon Seok portrays Min Joon Ho, whose response to the allegations becomes increasingly active, while Seo Hyun Jin plays Kang Ji Sun, who continues seeking answers as her personal life comes under pressure.
The drama also features Ok Ja Yeon as police officer Lee Hwa Young, who plays an important role in the investigation.
Despite the tension surrounding the story, The Perfect Lie has yet to gain stronger momentum in nationwide television ratings.
With Episode 3 falling to 1.1%, attention now turns to whether the drama can recover its audience in the coming weeks.
The Perfect Lie airs every Friday and Saturday on MBC.
