SBS's hit medical drama Doctor X: The Age of the White Mafia, starring Kim Ji Won, recorded a decline in ratings but continued to dominate television rankings.
According to Nielsen Korea on October 31, the seventh episode of Doctor X, which aired on October 30, recorded a nationwide rating of 16.5%, down from its previous 19.5%.
Despite the drop, the drama maintained its strong position, ranking No. 1 among all programs aired across television channels during the week, as well as leading its time slot.
The episode also achieved a peak rating of 17.5%, showing that the series continues to attract a large audience even after the decline.
Among viewers aged 20 to 49, a key demographic for advertisers, Doctor X recorded an average rating of 5.4% and a peak of 6.3%, further highlighting its popularity.
The latest episode followed Gye Soo Jung (Kim Ji Won) as she faced another challenging medical case involving a patient struggling with painful memories from his past.
While the patient initially resisted treatment, Soo Jung remained determined to help him. Her experience with past trauma also played an important role in understanding his situation.
During an emotional moment, Soo Jung firmly told the patient, "I can't let you run away from the possibility of staying alive. You need to have surgery."
Despite the difficulties, she eventually performed the operation successfully, once again showing her strong determination to save lives.
The episode highlighted Soo Jung's belief that protecting patients should always come first, while also revealing more of her personal struggles.
Although Doctor X saw its nationwide ratings decrease from 19.5% to 16.5%, its continued lead across television rankings shows that the drama remains one of the week's strongest performers.
Attention is now on whether the SBS series can recover its previous ratings and continue its successful run in the coming episodes.
