Singer and actress IU has once again shown her support for actor Heo Nam Joon by sending a coffee truck to the filming set of his upcoming tvN drama Whale Star.
On October 21, Heo Nam Joon shared a photo on his social media account revealing the thoughtful gift he received from IU, showing that the two stars have maintained their friendship after working together on previous projects.
Along with the photo, the actor expressed his gratitude to IU for supporting him while he films his new drama.
He wrote, "I'm posting my thanks a little late. I really enjoyed the food and drinks. Thank you, senior! Thank you so much! Please always stay healthy!"
The photo showed a coffee truck sent by IU to encourage Heo Nam Joon and the production team of Whale Star.
IU included a supportive message on the truck that read, "I'm cheering for the team of Whale Star and actor Heo Nam Joon!"
The gesture attracted attention because of the professional connection between the two entertainers.
Heo Nam Joon previously appeared in the music video for IU's remake of Never Ending Story in 2025.
He also made a special appearance in the MBC drama Perfect Crown, which aired earlier this year and starred IU.
Their connection is expected to continue, as Heo Nam Joon is also set to appear in a music video for a song from IU's upcoming sixth full-length album.
However, IU's album comeback has reportedly been postponed due to the worsening of her patulous Eustachian tube condition, which has affected her planned music activities.
Meanwhile, Heo Nam Joon is currently busy filming Whale Star, a new historical romance drama set in 1926 during Korea's Japanese colonial period.
The series stars Moon Ga Young as Heo Soo Ah, a young woman working as a maid for a pro-Japanese household, and Choi Woo Shik as Kang Ui Hyun, an independence activist whose life becomes connected to hers.
Heo Nam Joon plays Song Hae Soo, another independence activist who has experienced personal tragedy and is determined to dedicate his life to his cause.
The drama follows young people navigating love, sacrifice, and difficult choices during a turbulent period in Korean history.
With Heo Nam Joon taking on an important role in the upcoming series, IU's coffee truck serves as a warm show of encouragement as he continues filming.
The actor's public message of thanks also highlights the friendly relationship the two have maintained through their previous collaborations.
Whale Star is currently in production, with its exact premiere date yet to be announced.
