Goo Kyo Hwan will make a very brief surprise appearance in director Yeon Sang Ho’s upcoming film "Paradise Lost" after volunteering to join the production as an extra.
During a press conference for the film on October 12, Yeon Sang Ho revealed that Goo Kyo Hwan personally asked to appear in the movie despite not having a major role.
Yeon Sang Ho said, *“Goo Kyo Hwan appears very briefly. You probably won’t notice him.”*
He added that the actor had also appeared in an unusual way in one of his previous projects.
*“He was in a photo hanging inside a cafe in *The Face*. This time, he said he wanted to appear properly, so he even prepared his own costume and joined as an extra.”*
Yeon Sang Ho also joked that Goo Kyo Hwan became so involved that he even attended the production’s wrap party.
*“He even came to the wrap party,”* the director said with a laugh. *“He passes by so quickly that it may be difficult to find him.”*
The cameo was possible because of the film’s relatively informal production atmosphere. Yeon Sang Ho explained that *Paradise Lost* was made more like a creative project among close colleagues than a conventional large-scale commercial production.
He said, *“Rather than making this purely for commercial purposes, it felt like a group of close friends doing a club activity together. I think that’s why people were able to help in this way.”*
He added, *“I can’t always make films like this, but I really enjoy this kind of creative process. If I could, I’d like to do something like this once a year.”*
*Paradise Lost* stars Kim Hyun Joo and Bae Hyun Sung and follows a mother whose son unexpectedly returns years after being presumed dead following a school bus disappearance.
