Actor Lee Yi Kyung is gradually returning to Korean entertainment activities after spending much of the past year keeping a lower public profile.

On October 10, Lee Yi Kyung shared new photos from the 31st Busan International Film Festival on social media, writing, *“31st BIFF. Generation Regret.”*

The update followed his appearance on the festival’s opening red carpet on October 6 and an open talk for the film *Generation Regret* on October 9.

During the BIFF event, Lee Yi Kyung appeared alongside director Kim Sung Yoon and co-stars Jung Jae Young, Kim Joo Ryoung, and Kim Ah Young. His latest social media post also included behind-the-scenes photos from the festival.

The appearances mark a noticeable return to Korean public activities after Lee Yi Kyung reduced his domestic schedule following a personal-life controversy that began last year.

At the time, an individual posted alleged private conversations involving the actor. The claims later became disputed after the person deleted posts and changed parts of their account. Lee Yi Kyung’s agency denied the allegations and pursued legal action, while the actor also said he had filed complaints over alleged threats and false information.

The individual involved later stated that evidence had been submitted to police and that cooperation with the investigation was continuing remotely.

Amid the controversy, Lee Yi Kyung left MBC’s *Hangout with Yoo* and KBS2’s *The Return of Superman*. He subsequently focused more heavily on overseas work, including the Japanese drama *Dream Stage*, while maintaining only limited Korean appearances.

He also faced separate tax-related allegations earlier this year, which he denied, stating that there had been no intentional omission of income or unlawful tax evasion.

More recently, Lee Yi Kyung joined E Channel’s web variety show *Detectives’ Talk 3* and returned to a major Korean public event through BIFF.

With his latest festival appearances and new domestic projects, Lee Yi Kyung appears to be gradually resuming Korean entertainment activities after a relatively quiet period.
