Byun Yo Han and Swings are taking their on-screen rivalry in a completely different direction as they prepare to perform a duet together on KBS2’s The Seasons – Sung Si Kyung’s Eardrum Boyfriend.
The two stars appear together in the upcoming film Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub, where Byun Yo Han plays fugitive Jang Tae Young and Swings, credited under his real name Moon Ji Hoon, takes on the role of his pursuer Abraham.
Ahead of the film’s September 23 release, the pair will make their first variety show appearance together to promote the project.
During the recording, they spoke about preparing for the movie and the chemistry among the cast, including Noh Jae Won and Ayaka Miyoshi.
However, one of the most anticipated parts of their appearance is their singing performance.
According to the production team, Byun Yo Han and Swings spent considerable time deciding which song to perform together.
They reportedly went through several choices while looking for a track that suited both of their voices and matched the mood of the film.
The unusual pairing has raised curiosity over how the two actors, who face each other as rivals on screen, will sound when sharing the stage as duet partners.
Swings is also drawing attention for making his acting debut in Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub. He plays Abraham, a fearless and ruthless outlaw. His casting reportedly came after Byun Yo Han recommended footage of his acting to the director.
Byun Yo Han stars as Jang Tae Young, a man who rises through the world of online casinos using his instincts and gambling skills before becoming caught in a high-stakes conflict.
Their episode of The Seasons – Sung Si Kyung’s Eardrum Boyfriend will air on August 28 at 11:30 PM KST on KBS2.
Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub is scheduled to hit theaters on September 23.
