Actor So Ji Sub explained why he chooses to speak carefully and briefly about his wife, Jo Eun Jung.

During an interview following the end of SBS drama Agent Kim Reactivated, So Ji Sub was asked how Jo Eun Jung reacted to the drama’s success.

He shared: “Because there were many difficult filming days, she told me, ‘You worked hard. I heard many people around me talking about the drama.’ She supported me.”

So Ji Sub married former announcer Jo Eun Jung in 2020. He said the couple does not often discuss work at home and explained that he limits public comments about their marriage because he wants her to be recognized as an individual.

He said: “This is something I want to say carefully, but I hope my wife can live under her own name. If our relationship continues to receive attention, she may keep being described as ‘someone’s wife.’ I feel sorry about that, so I tend to speak less because I want her to remain known by her own name.”

So Ji Sub also discussed whether he may return to music after releasing nine albums.

He said: “I would be fine with doing music again, but I am not sure whether the public wants it. Reaching a tenth album would be meaningful, so I am still thinking about it. Someday, I may work on music again with the friends who have been with me for a long time.”

In addition to acting and music, So Ji Sub has helped introduce international independent and art films to South Korean audiences since 2014.

He remained modest about his involvement, saying: “There are professionals who handle that work, and I only try to offer some support. I am involved in a small way, so I am careful when speaking about it.”
