Actor Lee Joon Gi reflected on how his approach to life has changed after spending much of his 20s and 30s focused intensely on his career.

Lee Joon Gi recently appeared on the August cover of The Star, with the accompanying photo shoot taking place in Taipei.

During the interview, the actor discussed his upcoming drama Kidnap Game, which is expected to be released later this year. He described working with actors and staff members from different countries as a meaningful experience.

Lee Joon Gi said: “It was interesting and enjoyable to learn different languages and ways of communicating while building teamwork together.”

He continued: “As long as there was passion and determination to create something new, even the difficult filming conditions became a series of lessons and discoveries. Working with staff members and actors from different countries was a happy experience that allowed me to learn and feel many things.”

The actor also revealed that he has recently become interested in traveling alone.

He shared: “In my 20s and 30s, I lived intensely and kept my distance from freedom. Now, I am trying to reward myself and remind myself not to close my heart to the world, but to experience it and look at it openly.”

Lee Joon Gi added: “Rather than living a restricted life, I want to move toward a life that is more open for myself.”

Reflecting on his acting career, Lee Joon Gi said he feels he may have reached its halfway point and wants to spend the next chapter exploring new creative opportunities.

He explained: “I often think that I may now be around the middle of my life as an actor. For the remaining half, I want to challenge myself with creative work that I previously held back from or did not have the opportunity to pursue. I also want to enjoy my projects a little more.”

Lee Joon Gi concluded by expressing his hope to continue growing both personally and professionally while protecting the sincerity that has guided him throughout his career.

He said: “I hope both Lee Joon Gi as a person and Lee Joon Gi as an actor can continue drawing a broader life with an open mind. I also hope I never lose the sincerity that has been a major source of strength for me.”
