Rookie actress Seo Su Min revealed that she chose not to enroll in university so she could focus completely on her first acting role in the SBS drama Agent Kim Reactivated.

During an interview following the drama’s conclusion, Seo Su Min shared her gratitude for the positive response from viewers.

“It still feels like a dream, and I cannot fully believe it yet,” she said. “We received a good result because viewers enjoyed the drama. The directors, staff members, and senior actors all worked hard together, so I am very thankful to everyone.”

Born in 2007, Seo Su Min made her acting debut as Min Ji, the daughter of Kim Bu Jang, played by So Ji Sub. Her character plays an important role in the drama’s main story.

When asked how people around her reacted to her debut, she said her father quietly expressed his pride to her mother because he did not want to place pressure on her.

“My friends now call me ‘Min Ji,’” she added. “I did not attend university, but my former teachers and younger students from high school contacted me and said they enjoyed watching the drama.”

Seo Su Min revealed that she had been accepted into a university’s theater and film program but decided not to complete her enrollment after being cast in Agent Kim Reactivated.

“I joined my agency during my second year of high school and began studying acting seriously while also preparing for university entrance exams,” she explained. “Then I was cast in Agent Kim Reactivated*. Since I was still inexperienced, I wanted to focus on the drama and give it my best effort.”*

She earned the role through a formal audition. The drama’s director previously explained that the production team had considered hundreds of actresses but had not found the right person for Min Ji. After watching a short profile video of Seo Su Min, the director reportedly became interested immediately.

Seo Su Min said the video was filmed during an acting class only three months after she signed with her agency.

“I attended the audition after school while still wearing my school uniform,” she recalled. “I received a description of the situation and acted based on the first emotion I felt from the character. I was not thinking about showing how skilled I was.”

The actress was already a fan of the original webtoon before joining the drama. She described herself as a successful fan who received the opportunity to play a character from a story she enjoyed.

“It was meaningful to act as a character from a webtoon I liked,” she said. “I also studied the original work, but I read the script more than ten or twenty times and imagined each scene in my mind while preparing.”

Agent Kim Reactivated follows an ordinary office worker who faces his dangerous past while searching for his missing daughter. The drama ended on July 25 and reportedly reached a personal-best nationwide rating of 23.1%, becoming one of the year’s strongest-performing television dramas.
