Former Roo’ra member Ko Young Wook has shared his opinion on the recent controversy surrounding singer BIBI’s Waterbomb Seoul 2026 performance.
On July 27, Ko Young Wook shared a report about the discussion surrounding BIBI’s stage on his social media account and questioned the performance style, writing, "I live in the countryside, so I do not know much about it, but is Waterbomb some kind of competition where singers come out and compete over who reveals more?"
He also added, "Thinking about Africa, where water is scarce, makes me feel sorry."
The comments came after BIBI’s performance at Waterbomb Seoul 2026 on July 25, where some viewers raised concerns about parts of her stage performance. Videos from the event spread online, leading to discussions about the level of expression shown during the performance.
BIBI has not released a separate statement regarding Ko Young Wook’s comments.
Meanwhile, Ko Young Wook debuted as a member of Roo’ra in 1994 and later appeared in various entertainment programs.
He was convicted in 2013 for sexual offenses involving minors and received a prison sentence from the Supreme Court. He completed his sentence and was released in 2015.
