Oh My Girl's Hyojung surprised viewers by showing off a unique skill she learned from her part-time jobs before debut, revealing that her strong work ethic once earned her a promotion offer.
The idol shared her story during an appearance on JTBC's Knowing Bros, where she joined TVXQ's U-Know Yunho, BTOB's Seo Eunkwang, and BOYNEXTDOOR's Myung Jaehyun as guests.
Hyojung introduced herself by mentioning that one of her nicknames is "Clear Sunshine" before revealing that she considered herself a master of part-time jobs before becoming an idol.
"Before my debut, from the ages of 19 to 22, I worked at a grilled pork restaurant, a jokbal restaurant, handed out flyers, and even worked as a babysitter," she said.
She recalled openly sharing her dream with customers, even while working.
"When customers who had been drinking asked me, 'What's your dream?' I would answer, 'I'm going to become an idol,'" Hyojung said.
Among her many jobs, she said her experience at a jokbal restaurant stood out the most because of how quickly she adapted to the work.
"After just two months, my hourly pay increased by 500 won. About six months later, they even asked me, 'Would you like to become the team leader here?'" she shared.
Hyojung credited her speed and efficiency for earning the offer.
"I worked very quickly. As soon as customers arrived, I would prepare the chive side dish, set the table, and take drink orders all at the same time," she explained.
To prove the skills she developed during those years, Hyojung amazed everyone in the studio by demonstrating how she could carry 10 empty soju bottles at once, placing one bottle on each finger in a trick she learned while working at the restaurant.
