
Kim Hee Chul opened up about his past dating experience during the July 14 episode of JTBC’s relationship reality show “Love War”.
The episode featured a couple with a 12 year age difference. The boyfriend was 27 years old, while his girlfriend was 39. The couple also revealed that they had been living together for around one to two years.
Before watching their full story, the panel members chose which side they understood more.
Yewon supported the older girlfriend and explained, “I have also dated a younger man before, so I am on the girlfriend’s side.”
Kim Hee Chul chose to support the younger boyfriend and shared a personal story from his 20s.
He said, “When I was younger, I liked older women and dated them. I think I understand how he feels.”
He continued, “He does not want to be seen only as a younger brother.”
Kim Hee Chul’s honest comment gained attention as he explained why younger men in age gap relationships may want to be treated as equal partners.
Seo Jang Hoon also supported the younger boyfriend, while Lee Hyori joined Yewon in supporting the older girlfriend.
