
Heo Nam Joon opened up about the mindset that helped him get through his early years as an unknown actor.
On July 1, Heo Nam Joon appeared in a video released on Harper’s BAZAAR Korea’s YouTube channel, where he shared honest thoughts about his acting journey.
The actor said that staying positive helped him continue even when he only received small roles.

He shared, “I was a more positive person than I thought. Even when I got only a small role, I was really happy and held parties with my friends.”
Heo Nam Joon then looked back on some of his earlier projects. He said that in the movie “Night in Paradise,” he only had one short line, but still celebrated the role with his friends. He also said he held a party when he made his debut through the movie “Hostage.”
The actor also talked about appearing as the male lead in IU’s music video for “Never Ending Story,” the title track of her 3rd remake album “A Flower Bookmark Three.”
Remembering that moment, Heo Nam Joon said, “Until the day I went to the filming set, every single day felt like a party.”
He added, “Just knowing that someone like IU knew I was alive and breathing in this world made me feel like I had no more regrets.”
His comments are gaining attention for showing how much the opportunity meant to him and how he stayed grateful even during the early stages of his career.
