Ong Seong Wu is ready to show a new side of himself in tvN’s upcoming drama “Spooky in Love.”

The new Saturday Sunday drama is set to premiere on July 18 at 9:10 PM KST. “Spooky in Love” is an occult romance about Chun Yeo Ri, a chaebol heiress who can see ghosts, and Ma Kang Wook, a passionate prosecutor who is afraid of ghosts.

Ong Seong Wu will play Kang Min Hwan, an original character created for the drama. Kang Min Hwan appears gentle and polite on the outside, but he hides strong ambition and a deep desire to be recognized by his family and company.

He is also described as someone who can use other people’s emotions to get what he wants.

This will be Ong Seong Wu’s first time taking on a villain role, making his transformation one of the drama’s key points to watch.

Speaking about why he chose the project, Ong Seong Wu said, “Since the original movie was loved by many people, I was also looking forward to the story being remade.” He added that Kang Min Hwan, a character not seen in the original, could bring “new tension” to the story.

Ong Seong Wu also explained how he approached the role, saying, “Min Hwan is a person with a very clear goal.” He shared that he focused on the reason behind Kang Min Hwan’s actions so the character would feel convincing.

The actor also said he wants viewers to see a different mood from him through this drama. He shared, “People often tell me that I look upright,” adding, “Through this character, I want to show a cold side. I want viewers to react by saying, ‘He has this kind of atmosphere too?’”

Ong Seong Wu also asked viewers to look forward to the teamwork between Park Eun Bin and Yang Se Jong, saying, “Please watch how Chun Yeo Ri and Ma Kang Wook solve very chilling cases.”

With Ong Seong Wu’s first villain role, Park Eun Bin and Yang Se Jong’s team play, and a mix of romance and mystery, “Chilling Romance” is already raising curiosity ahead of its premiere.
