Shin Min Ah, Ju Ji Hoon, Lee Jong Suk, and Lee Se Young’s highly anticipated fantasy romance The Remarried Empress is officially set to make its world premiere at the 31st Busan International Film Festival.
The festival announced that The Remarried Empress has been selected for its “On Screen” section, which introduces major upcoming drama series to audiences before their wider release.
Based on the globally popular web novel and webtoon of the same name, The Remarried Empress has attracted strong attention since its star-studded cast was revealed.
Shin Min Ah leads the series as the empress, while Ju Ji Hoon, Lee Jong Suk, and Lee Se Young take on other key roles in the fantasy romance. The project is expected to bring the well-known story and its royal setting to life with a new live-action interpretation.
Its appearance at BIFF will mark the first time the series is officially shown to an audience anywhere in the world, making the festival an important first showcase for the adaptation.
The Remarried Empress will be joined in the “On Screen” section by Sweet Job, starring Lee Jae Wook, Go Min Si, Kim Min Ha, and Lee Hee Joon, as well as Blue Road, starring Son Suk Ku, Eita Nagayama, and Kim Shin Rok.
All three series are scheduled to hold their world premieres during the festival.
The 31st Busan International Film Festival will take place from October 6 to 15, with The Remarried Empress expected to be one of the most closely watched drama premieres in this year’s lineup.
