Lee Nak Jun, the original author behind Netflix’s The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, has revealed the actors he personally has in mind for his next project, AI Doctor.

Appearing on the August 24 broadcast of KBS 2TV’s Malja Show, Lee Nak Jun shared that several projects began moving forward following the success of The Trauma Code.

He explained, “Thankfully, a lot of things started progressing after The Trauma Code did well. AI Doctor, which I wrote as my next work, also signed a contract and is currently moving forward.”

When host Kim Young Hee asked whether he already had a first choice for the lead role, an audience member suggested Kim Seon Ho.

Lee Nak Jun responded that he likes Kim Seon Ho but explained that the main character in AI Doctor is younger.

He said, “Personally, I like Lee Do Hyun and Song Kang. I like Kim Seon Ho too, but the age range is a little different. The main character is young.”

His comments were presented as his personal preferences rather than an official casting announcement. There has been no confirmation that Lee Do Hyun, Song Kang, or Kim Seon Ho has been offered a role in the project.

AI Doctor is based on Lee Nak Jun’s web novel and is currently moving forward as an adaptation, though official casting and production details have yet to be announced.

Lee Nak Jun previously gained wider recognition after his 2019 web novel Trauma Center: Golden Hour was adapted into Netflix’s The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call.

For now, his mention of Lee Do Hyun and Song Kang is simply an early glimpse at the kind of actors the original author personally imagines for the young lead of AI Doctor.
