Netflix has responded cautiously after The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call original author Lee Nak Jun said season 2 could begin filming in October.
Lee Nak Jun appeared on the August 24 broadcast of KBS 2TV’s Malja Show, where he shared an update about the possible second season of the popular Netflix medical drama.
He said, “The pre-production work for season 2 is finished, and they are currently looking for locations. I think filming will probably begin in October.”
However, Netflix clarified on August 25 that plans for a follow-up season have not yet been finalized.
Netflix stated, “Production of a follow-up to The Trauma Code is still under discussion, so it is difficult for us to confirm the filming start date or casting at this time.”
The statement means that while preparations may be taking place, an October filming schedule has not been officially confirmed by Netflix.
The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call gained strong attention after its first season, leading to growing interest in a possible continuation.
The discussion around season 2 also comes as actress Ha Young, who played nurse Cheon Jang Mi, has faced criticism over comments she previously made about her family history. Ha Young later apologized after saying she learned more about historical controversies involving her great-grandfather.
For now, Netflix says the next season remains under discussion, with filming dates, casting, and other production details still awaiting official confirmation.
