BigHit Music has shared an official update on its legal action to protect BTS from malicious posts, privacy violations, and stalking.

On June 29, the agency posted a notice on Weverse titled “Notice on legal response regarding violations of artist rights.”

BigHit Music stated that it is continuously taking legal action against illegal acts such as defamation, insults, sexual harassment, and malicious slander.

The agency said it is collecting evidence in real time through fan reports and its own monitoring system.

According to BigHit Music, one person who repeatedly posted false information about BTS online was found to have committed insult and defamation, and received a suspension of indictment on the condition of completing education.

BigHit Music also stressed that it is applying a “zero tolerance” policy. The agency said it is tracking malicious hate comments, organized fake news, and the leaking or spreading of unreleased content.

It added that even deleted posts can still be included in legal complaints through its real time evidence collection system.

The agency also shared the result of a stalking and residential trespassing case involving an artist’s private residence. BigHit Music said the defendant was detained for about three months during trial, and the court sentenced the person to one year in prison, suspended for two years.

BigHit Music warned that “wandering around an artist’s residence, watching and waiting, or leaving gifts without permission” is not simple interest, but a clear crime.

The agency added that the same rule applies to both Korean and foreign offenders, and foreign offenders may face deportation and an entry ban from South Korea.

The agency ended by saying it will continue strong legal action, including immediate police reports, against illegal attempts to approach BTS under the excuse of sharing personal feelings.

BigHit Music also thanked fans for their reports and said it will keep working to protect the artists.
