The Korea-Philippines variety show “KUMUSTA” is gaining strong attention in the Philippines after featuring Korean stars such as Ji Chang Wook, Seo In Guk, Kim Myung Soo (L), Kim Min Seok, and others.

According to reports, the program has ranked No. 1 in several local performance indicators, while its short form videos have now passed 100 million total views.

“KUMUSTA” is a co produced reality show that follows Korean and Filipino celebrities as they run a real Filipino restaurant in Gangnam, Seoul. Through food, the cast shares both Korean and Filipino culture in a fun and natural way.

The show first aired on TV5 in the Philippines in May and has continued to reach more viewers through OTT platforms and social media.

The main cast includes Jodi Sta. Maria, Janella Salvador, Francine Diaz, Arci Muñoz, Korean chef Choi Hyun Seok, and chef JP Anglo. Special guests such as Seo In Guk, Kim Myung Soo (L), Kim Min Seok, Kim Min Kyung, Park Ki Ryang, and others also appeared in later episodes, helping raise interest in the show.

Because of the strong response, several companies in the Philippines have reportedly sent collaboration offers in areas such as food, restaurants, retail, advertising, and production. Some follow up projects are also being discussed.

The production team is also reviewing possible new content, including a spin off. A representative from Ecolive Korea said, “‘KUMUSTA’ is a project that brought the cultural connection between Korea and the Philippines into content”.

They added that based on viewer interest and market response, they will continue reviewing “follow up content development and business expansion”.
