Starship Entertainment has shared an update on its legal response to malicious online posts targeting IVE member Jang Wonyoung.

On June 18, the agency announced through social media that it is continuing to monitor and take legal action against people who create or spread harmful posts about Jang Wonyoung.

According to Starship, investigative authorities are currently working to identify suspects and secure evidence in the ongoing complaint cases.

For major Korean platforms such as Naver Blog and DC Inside, warrant procedures are underway to obtain subscriber information.

For overseas platforms such as X, formerly Twitter, the agency said international cooperation is also being pursued to identify users and collect related information.

Starship also stated that it is gathering evidence through fan reports and its own monitoring system. The agency said it is taking strong legal action, including criminal and civil measures, against confirmed illegal acts such as insults, defamation, spreading false information, harassment, and invasion of privacy.

The agency firmly warned, “Regardless of whether posts are deleted, accounts are withdrawn, or accounts are changed to private afterward, we plan to hold them legally responsible until the end based on the evidence already secured”.

Starship added that it is not only protecting Jang Wonyoung, but also monitoring rights violations against all of its artists under the same legal standards.

The update comes after an online controversy involving a short airport video of Jang Wonyoung from May 30, when she departed from Gimpo International Airport with the IVE members for a schedule in Shanghai. As the discussion grew online, malicious posts against the idol also increased.
